My girl and I both have a taste for the open road. A few times a week, we will take the long way home and roll down the windows, wander through our town’s country roads, and sing at the top of our lungs. Abi’s got a taste for rap, country, pop, and she’s recently gotten into big band- which I find to be seriously adorable. She’s also interested in classical if there’s a string section that’s playing a really high part. The girl has got a wide range of tastes but she certainly has some serious opinions. When we used to watch American Idol she would cry real tears when someone wasn’t good. No joke.
Some of Abi’s current favorites include:
Alexander Hamilton – Hamilton the musical (YESSSS… “What’s your name?!!! ALEXANDER HAMILTON”)
New Romantics- Taylor Swift (Hello, surprise 1989 bonus track. When did you come in?)
Pawn Shop- Brother’s Osborne
Lose Control – Missy Elliot
Hymns for My Mother -Wade Bowen (The entire record)
And pretty much anything by her dad – Sean McConnell
Now that I’ve been typing this I’m in the mood for a drive. We have 30 more minutes of sunlight… I think it may be time for a little road-time with music and ice cream.
